Find answers to some commonly asked questions about our summer programs for students with Asperger’s and LD.
How will student's prescription medications be handled?
Students must show independence with taking medications but will have daily reminders.
How are roommates selected?
CIP will review all applications once a student is accepted and match students with others of similar interest and age as best as possible.
Should my student bring a computer?
While laptops are allowed, our summer program is designed to encourage learning, the development of friendships and having fun. Students will not be allowed to take laptops on activities.
Where will the classes be held?
At the college or university where students are residing.
What kind of transportation will students use during the summer program?
Students will utilize public transportation, be expected to walk 15-30 minutes in a given day and will use pre-arranged transportation for some outings.
Can transportation to and from the local airport be arranged?
Yes, the cost for transportation to and from the airport is included in the tuition. We will arrange pick-ups for the following airports:- CIP Berkeley – San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
- CIP Berkshire –Hartford International Airport (BDL)
- CIP Brevard –Orlando International Airport (MCO)
- CIP Amherst –Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BNIA)
- CIP Bloomington –Indianapolis International Airport (IND)
- CIP Long Beach –Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Please speak with the National Summer Program Coordinator to discuss arrival and departure times prior to booking any flights. If you need transportation from a different airport CIP may be able to accommodate, this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
What is the cost?
Each Summer Program has an all inclusive cost of $4,300 ($300 will be handed back as cash to practice budgeting and handling money and is pre-budgeted for some meals and activities). The cost covers all activities, room and board (3 meals a day), optional airport pick up and drop off, 24/7 staffing and support and 1 college credit. Upon acceptance to the program a non-refundable deposit of $860.00 and registration forms will be required in order to reserve your space in the program. Final payment is due by June 1.

Apply here! An email will be sent to confirm receipt of materials, please make a copy for your records. Applications are considered for the program on a rolling basis. Faculty decisions are underway. Students will be contacted with decisions by email. Upon acceptance into the program a non-refundable deposit and program registration forms will be required in order to reserve your spot. The complete program cost must be paid by July 1.
